BIBLICAL QUALITIES OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD

Like Moses, you are watchful for the opportunities God brings your way to take us through our days and our lives with integrity and perseverance, toward the promise of God’s blessing.

Like Joshua, you urge us to live fearlessly.

Like David, you have a mighty heart, but you know the value of trusted counsel.

Like Job, you encourage in the midst of suffering.

Like Solomon, you find wisdom in common sense, and remind us to be happy as life’s seasons bring to us whatever God has in store.

Like the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, you point us constantly to Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor for comfort and strength, hope and peace.

Like Daniel, you value excellence and courage.

Like Hosea, you remind us of God’s unending mercy.

Like Amos, you urge us not to forget God in our prosperity.

Like Obadiah, Jonah and Micah, you caution us toward humble obedience to God and against neglect or mistreatment of even the poorest or most despised among us.

Like Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, and Zechariah, you boost our faith to carry life’s burdens, obey God, and trust Him to do what is right for us.

Like Malachi, you set a worthy example.

Like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, you recount for us the life of Jesus and relate relevant stories to teach us God’s word.

And like Paul, you lead us to see beyond the law and to walk in the Spirit, with gratitude to God and love for each other.
